Building the UFO / Evil Bug / Octopus
*If you want a two sided toy: fold and glue both squares together and allow to dry. *It is best to fold square before you cut the slits. *You want every fold to go both ways. Crease paper well so each fold is a hinge that moves with ease. This toy turns inside out and every fold has to easily go both ways. If you can cut out a square, cut a straight line, and fold paper you can make this paper toy in minutes. 1. Cut out square, fold square in half both cross ways and diagonally over and over until it bends easy. 2. Now that the folds are floppy and juicy, lay square down flat and cut the two straight lines in each corner. 3. Fold the square diagonally in half as a triangle, and fold the little tabbed triangles over from the long slit to the top point. Move it back and forth so they bend any direction easy, and press them down to crease well. 4. Now hold the square folded diagonally and pop the little triangles in. Pinch where they fold if they need help popping in. 5. Fold into a 3D X shape and push the tip of each corner so it pops inward and tug the foot down into place. Fold project flat and press it all into place. Video Instructions for this pattern - click here. Projects that use this pattern: UFO - brother and sister aliens on their spacecraft. Evil Bug - one of the many things the aliens must avoid during their travels. Comments
