Mark Harvey and I were working very hard on a musical video project titled Thomas Edison’s Daughter. The Edison role was going to be played by Richard McGhee Star Vocalist, but he died from his cancer chemo treatments before we shot the movie. I needed a change of environment after the loss of my friend, so I moved to New York City. I was always curious about NY.  I got a job building and painting photo sets in the city, and on weekends I taught ceramics to kids at Snug Harbor on Staten Island. I would bring home scrap wood from the shop, and make ceramic toys during class. I began to build little haunted doll houses, like the ones above using stuff from these two jobs. Most of these sold in a place called A Gallery in NOHO. Those guys were so nice to show my stuff while I lived in NY.

Terra Cotta Poor Boy by J.E.Moores.

Here I’m making a press mold out of Plaster of Paris so I can make ceramic Poor Boy toys. After I get a bunch done, I’ll fire them in the kiln at over 1600 degrees Fahrenheit. Poor Boy.
