Toy Art Gallery’s Resin Toy Show opens June 10th, 2011 and I have a few Gompers in the show. I’m making a few Podlings to bring with me to trade. My hope is that the other artists will bring a few toys to trade: art for art. I also hand cut a block print so that each Podling has a hand printed trading card. Here is what the Podling card looks like. I don’t sell Podlings because they are so much work. I keep them for trade only. I have to rotocast each Pod by hand, which means rotating the mold for 12-15 minutes until the resin cures hollow. You see, solid toys are easy, you just pour it full of resin and walk away while it gets hard. Hollow requires so much time and attention. I just turn up the tunes, and rock out while I make Pods one at a time. Bonkers.

I made this video about 10 years ago, maybe longer. Time goes so fast. I still live here with the little Peanut Sisters. I have a suspicion they are what is keeping me young. Fairy magic!

Every once in a while a giganic kaiju battle takes place in my back yard. Now that I have a whole collection of vinyl toys by Jeff Lamm, characters like Greasebat, M5 Bravo, and Stee-Gar come and go at will. Hark! I can hear them now grinding each other into the rubble.

Greasebat makes it to Pacifica CA. When the brown / gold Greasebat dropped I didn’t have the cash to get one. So I decided to watch eBay for one, and when it reared it’s ugly head, I snatched it up. Thank you to designer Jeff Lamm, sculptor Chauskoskis, and production by Monster Worship for this holy grail of vinyl toys. Now if it would just stop raining, I could go out and photograph a major Kaiju battle between the Real Fighting Greasebat and my other Jeff Lamm toys, M5 Bravo, and Stee-Gar.

Pedro Point Lost JEM Toy has been set loose. The sun is out, so come out to the beach! If you would like to see a nifty view of Pedro Point along the California coastline, this is a remote little known spot. High cliff overlooking the ocean, great for sunsets. Over looks a weird little beach side ghost town. If you follow Olympia Way all the way to the end, there are two boulders marking the end (just past 111 Olympia Way). Between the boulders is a wood post where I left a little lost JEM Toy for you to find. Once found, please take the toy far away to some place special and take a photo. Leave the toy for someone else to find, and post a photo with a Google Map link on my site. I will post you one of my plastic toys for participating. Use the map below to find the little lost JEM Toy!
